Are some (how much) of the royalties paid directly to
Canadian families? Do they get a check in the mail every month?

Here in the States we don't get anything from coal miners and etc.
-- at least that I'm aware of -- so I really don't understand the
system. Getting paid for something I don't own is a foreign concept
to me, however I can see how it's felt that in a way the citizens do
actually own the oil. Interesting debate.
