This is great news and not unexpected. I think that all was in place when the binding agreement was signed... just needed to get docs written and everyone to initial their part.

Now that it is a signed deal, hopefully the "escrow" is closed and the check is cashed, Osisko will be on a tear. Tailings, mill residue, dollars for the taking. It will be interesting to see how this part of the deal is partitioned. I expect (and hope) that the pending reports Clifton Star had commissioned will be released concerning these above-ground ounces.

The news a while back was that Clifton Star had started assaying expanded widths of core, now Osisko said they will assay 100% of the archived core, 80% of which remained unassayed. I imagine that we will not hear much about the nature of the recently discovered gold halos around the old-timers "Veins" that were mined underground. I think that Osisko will do some expended drilling within the metavolcanics and metasedimentary rocks as well as within the intrusion. Osisko's Malartic deposit is a "Gold Porphyry" mineralized system, I know this is one of the first tasks for Osisko's team is to revise the Duparqet geologic model to identify further drilling targets... this will take some months. I expect further drilling and pertographic stiudies on the intrusion itself to nail down its composition.

If the intrusion is mineralized then this Big deposit becomes BIG!! They reported identifying 3 shear zones within the intrusion... if this is the case then the chances are high IMO that they will contain gold mineralization... then we have an awesome open pit, with a low strip ratio and grades that sing a profit rich song.

This story has yet to be written and Osisko will add many chapters to the "Introduction" written by Fred Archibald and Harry Miller.

Lots of upside yet IMO and it will unfold quickly, I am buying on pullbacks like today's. Not wholly unexpected that the signing caused some profit taking... those that bought around a buck have a nice return. Thanks for the shares!
