Champlain Completes Phase 2 Exploration Program of Line Cutting, Ground Geophysics and Lake Sediment Sampling at Boston Gold Project, Red Lake, Ontario
Calgary, Alberta CANADA, April 06, 2011 /FSC/ - Champlain Resources Inc. (CPL - TSX Venture), is pleased to announce that the Phase 2 Exploration Program has been successfully completed on its Boston Gold Project located near Red Lake, Ontario. The winter program consisted of 17 kilometers of grid establishment, 126 lake sediment samples, 12 line kilometers of induced polarization/resistivity and 43 line kilometers of high resolution, GPS enabled potassium magnetometer surveying.
The results of the geophysical program proved very encouraging and numerous high priority targets have been delineated. The program focused primarily on acquiring data directly under Laird Lake where a favorable geologic environment for gold deposits is thought to exist. A detailed interpretation of the geophysical data is currently underway and will be completed within a few days. All lake sediment samples collected during the program have been sent for analysis and results are expected in approximately three to four weeks.
Mr. Troy Mochoruk, CEO, states "We are extremely pleased with the initial results of the Phase 2 Exploration Program. The delineation of significant geophysical targets under Laird Lake brings Champlain one step closer to defining high priority drill targets for 2011. The Company is currently in the planning stages for its spring 2011 program which will expand on the work performed to date."
