Ok ... Freddie and Fannie want to raise 75 billion to shore up their pathetic balance sheets. That is ... have some cash to stay in business as they attempt to manage liabilities from the eroding value of foreclosed homes they have loans on.
Sounds like so many others who have needed to raise capital.
Call me ignorant, but why I can't understand why a person would invest in a company with a weak balance sheet???? Could it be to keep the American dream alive and well?
You have to wonder who these saviour investors really are? People who have a lot of "assets" on paper or are highly leveraged.
The madness has only so much more time to run on before US paper is no longer the world's currency ... you want to be in gold and you want to be in gold stocks at that time.
Why would someone invest in Citigroup when the financial sector can't even quantify the hit they will have to take on non existent or worthless assets and derivatives.
We are witness to the greatest swindle of the common man in history ... make no mistake ... protect yourself... as the prospector from the old xmas cartoon Rudy the redbeaked reindeer sang "silver and gold silver and gold" ... hold bullion hld seniors and for those wishing to become part of the millionaires club after this crash and the greater depression ... hold quality juniors like this.
