Called again this morning and spoke with Court.
With the anouncement of a new CFO Q1 was addressed ... Farrant's departure.
I expressed concern over a CFO leaving since they have as good an idea as to the company's real value as anyone.
Court's general response was that the departure was based upon a new opportunity, there was some duplication of staff from the merger, Farrant was being asked to do more things, some of which he may not have been comfortable doing ... etc .... "there may have been some philosphical differences"
in fairness its never easy to answer that question well ...
statements remain on track and an advantage of the new cfo is fluency in spanish which will allow them to do as much accounting as possible in the lower cost areas in which we mine.
the websites development strategy should be complete in a week or two ... currently being worked upon by Court and Chester.
In rating the organization he indicated that from a peer performance standpoint its value is probably 4 out of 10 ... there are worse and better ...
I don't like being on the bottom half personally.
With the loss of Farrant I questioned and suggested the company have in place a strategy for employee retention especially considering the industry is hot ... we have gold and evidently we have a team that can get it out of the ground at a cost effective level.
We may be able to lose a CFO ... but the operations people sure as hell should be kept happy!
Of course ... don't want them giving away options indiscriminately.
