Camino Rojo Mexico : In-situ - 4.0 million ounces gold; 68.32 million ounces of silver.
Nice read... those with "the goods" in the ground like our Canplats will pay handsomely, if and if and if. Its funny, the small moves in gold generate such extremes, today's price is a long way from $350/oz. which prevailed soooo long. I got into this business in 1977 and began my placer mining in earnest in 1979. We could only get radio in the AM and PM and each morning we anxiously waited for the gold price as it moved to $850/oz. The real lesson was to watch it plummet faster than it rose. We kept mining and my interest didn't wane, going on the get a degree in geology with my share of "the goods", then to become the mine geologist for the Castle Mountain Mine in SoCal in 1990.
I can't predict what the gold market and the junior market will do, but with the Fed printing money at a feverish pace, my bet is that the POG will not plummet soon and that the juniors will catch up.
Canplats has to be in the cross-hairs of the big players, the deposit is "easy to mine money" as I have stated before. It remains my biggest holding and I add more as I can. As Rickmm has posted, "this is the way professionals do it", so I follow his guidance. Special thanks to an un-named special friend for the introductions and information they have provided.
Been There, the Rock and pw are also great posters here, Been There has put CPQ on snooze, but is far from inactive. pw led me to Goldsource, a great story about diamonds into coal. ACM is a new friend and I listen to his council.
I have learned a lot since February and feel that this is a great deposit and property, run by savvy professionals. I can't say enough about those who have regularly contributed to this board, thanks to all and GLTA.
