Just some background, I have been a gold exploration geologist for many years in California and was the Mine Geologist for Viceroy Resources Castle Mountain Mine in SoCal.

I have watched the discussion of Canplats with great interest for several weeks now. I have followed this company since the 1980's when they were Colby. My Mom has had a position since that time and I have added a position for myself recently based on press releases and my analysis of the Companies released data.

Some great results in a widespread, near surface oxide zone that extends to depth. So much depends on the details of the geology, size of the gold particles. and the cyanide killers that may lurk in the deposit (Cu for one). Have they reported confirmation of the stratigraphy they represent in their conceptual geological model? If the siltstone is underlain by limestone and marble, then a skarn deposit below the oxide zone is possible and they can be very enriched with gold.

Sulfides are much more expensive to treat. I would bet that any such mine would cost over $100 million to develop. So I am cautious, curious and invested. I enjoy following the discussion and hope to offer constructive, open eyed opinions. I watch the other board to but have joined this one.
