CMC Purchases the Bishop Mill Facilities in Inyo County, California

05/18/2010 [ACCESSWIRE] Vancouver, B.C.: CMC Metals Ltd. (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has acquired the Bishop Mill (the "Mill) located in Bishop, California, which was built in 1985 for Mammoth Mountain Mining. The Mill is a permitted past operational mill capable of gravity concentrating gold and sulfide ores. Purchase price for the Mill was US$250,000, with an additional $350,000 to be spent to upgrade and make the Mill fully operational, which included an additional US$64,061 payment for an increase in a reclamation bond to the Bureau of Land Management ("BLM"), California, and the assumption of a US$68,160 liability backing the initial bond to BLM. The US$250,000 also paid all past payables totaling US$75,000. The purchase price included five claims which surround the Mill and an additional 3200 square foot warehouse and 960 square foot equipment maintenance building. The Mill has a security fence and gate surrounding the property and on-site water and power to the building.

The Mill has been purchased in a separate wholly owned subsidiary where 100% of the common shares are owned by the Company and $500,000, 4.5% preference shares have been issued to an investor.

Immediate plans for the Mill will be to complete the SRK tailings pond design and expand the current tailings pond from a Class C pond to a Class A pond. This will allow the facilities to process ores from a number of sources. Current facility capacity is 50 tons per day and can be expanded by increasing grinding capacity. There are a number of active permitted mines in the area that need mill capacity for processing their ore.
