Edit this title from the Fast Facts Section
Actually the NR was released by Rock Solid and not by CGX and as I recall CGX had previously already announced that they would be hiring Rock Solid and another firm to further analyze siesmic results.
Just my own thoughts but I believe the reason CGX has not re-opened the data room and JV process is that they might quite possibly currently be in JVP negotiations, I think they have had sufficient siesmic data for quite some time now to satisfy potential JVP prospects, and had already lined up JVP prospects when the data room was open back in 1998.
I recall Sully stating at the 1998 AGM that in the event they were faced with a Hostile takeover attempt management had a stable of White Nights that they could approach if they had to. Of course this was before the global financial crisis and drop in oil prices, had that not happened I am sure CGX would have been partnered up by now and be close to if not drilling.
Tullow farming into Georgetown and Shell JVPing with Exxon did so with far less siesmic data available at the time than CGX has had all along since CGX completed their 3D last December prior to anybody in the basin.
I could be way of base but no matter what before too long the hard core Longs will have their day because CGX is sitting on 9 million acres of what has the potential to be a monster play.
