There are definitely other ways to breach the BBB. However, the two articles you site use a laser/MRI approach or an injected air bubble/ultrasound approach. Not exactly amenable to widespread use. Would be very expensive and more dangerous. Opening the BBB using these other approaches may let a lot of things across the BBB.....so not very specific. The beauty of the Transcendpep approach of biOasis is that you can attach the Transcendpep peptide to your drug/enzyme/antibody/shRNA of interest and this molecule will specifically be carried across the BBB by the recognition of the Transcendpep peptide by a receptor at the BBB, which allows the molecule to be carried across the BBB by receptor-mediated endocytosis.
