Bayfield Ventures Completes Phase One Drilling in Rainy River, NW Ontario

Vancouver, BC - Bayfield Ventures Corp. (TSX-V: BYV) (FWB: B4N) (the "Company") announces that the Company has now completed its phase one 2010 winter drill program on its "Burns" Block claim group in the Rainy River District of Northwestern Ontario. The Burns Block is situated immediately to the east, on strike, of the Rainy River Resources (TSX-V: RR) recent major gold discovery area.

Bayfield Ventures completed three drill holes totalling 1506 metres. The initial 3 hole drill program was designed as infill holes to confirm previous gold values announced by Rainy River Resources from their drill program in the fall of 2008 on the "Burns" Block that is owned 100% by Bayfield. Several zones of sericitic quartz veining within Mafic units have been identified.

A new zone has been observed in drill hole RR10--03 containing a chlorite--pyrite replacing biotite alteration with fine grained sphalerite within a strongly altered volcanic package. This type of alteration has been known to host gold in the immediate Rainy River area.

Logging and sampling of the entire core is currently underway. All Core samples are being submitted to TSL Laboratories in Saskatoon for analysis.

Bayfield has raised sufficient funds to initiate a phase two drill program on its Rainy River "Burns" Block claim group once all of the phase one sample assays are received by the Company.

The mineralization encountered to date on Bayfield's Burns and "B" claim properties occurs in the same geological environment as what hosts the gold values on the main ODM17 zone of Rainy River Resources to the immediate west. It is very likely that some of the lithological units are correlative across the area. All of this information bodes well for defining deposit scale mineralization on the "Burns" Block property. The Company is of the opinion that the highly altered dacitic tuff breccia zone seen in the Rainy River Resources core continues in an easterly trend onto the "Burns" Block property held by Bayfield Ventures.
