Vancouver, BC - Bayfield Ventures Corp. (TSX-V: BYV) (FWB: B4N) announces that the Company's diamond drill program in the Rainy River district of Northwestern Ontario has commenced.

The project consists of three claim blocks of ground (Claim Block "A", "B", and "C") totaling approximately 1000 hectares. Claim Block "B" (100%) adjoins the Rainy River Resources gold project to the immediate east and Claim Blocks "A" (50%) and "C" (100%) are located to the immediate west of the Rainy River Resources acreage along perceived strike of geological formation.

An initial 10 -- 12 hole Phase 1 drill program is planned for testing of the structural and conductive settings now evident on Bayfield's properties.

David J. Busch, B.A., B.Sc., PGeo., is the qualified person under the meaning of National Instrument 43-101 and has reviewed the data in this News Release.
