When I got to visit with Igor on the problem at Willow Run last week I got to see some pics of the problem slide. There is a lanyard and a Trigger cord, both of which, unbeknownst to the slide packers, have a very critical length. If memory serves me, their determination was that if they were too long part of the slide may not inflate, too short and part of the slide could inflate too early in the deployment and cause it to tangle. I'm not sure if I have those specifics correct but my point is, they've got it figured out now and have solved the problem. After the the last mini they inspected the remaining 5 slides that were not deployed, and determined that 3 of those 5 probably would not have deployed properly had they been selected for the demo. The airplane is now configured and ready for a full Mini or a mini mini if require but the hope is for a Pass to be sent down from up on FAA high.
