Targeting New Uranium DIscoveries In The Athabasca Basin
Azincourt Energy Secures Permits for East Preston Drill Programs Through 2026
Azincourt Energy Corp. proudly announces a pivotal milestone in its East Preston uranium project in the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan, Canada. The Company has received official work authorization and permits from the Government of Saskatchewan, enabling diamond drilling and limited ground geophysics at East Preston until the summer of 2026. This development provides an uninterrupted three-year window for Azincourt Energy to advance its exploration efforts in this strategic location.
In parallel, Azincourt Energy underscores its commitment to local communities and their rights in the project area. The company maintains open channels of communication with the Clearwater River Dene Nation, ensuring that their concerns are heard and addressed. Further engagement initiatives are slated to begin shortly with the La Loche Metis Local #39, underscoring Azincourt's dedication to fostering meaningful partnerships and responsible resource development.
Mr. Trevor Perkins, VP of Exploration, expressed excitement about the extended permit duration: "The granting of these permits validates the government's and local communities' faith in our safe and environmentally friendly approach to exploration. Our ongoing engagement with local stakeholders ensures that concerns are addressed, and information is shared transparently to minimize any impact on the land users in the area."
As planning gains momentum for the winter 2024 drill program, Azincourt Energy targets the alteration zone encompassing the K- and H-Zones, with specifics regarding size, scope, and budget to be communicated in due course.
The core focus of the East Preston Project remains the conductive corridors spanning the A-Zone through the G-Zone (A-G Trend) and the K-Zone through to the H and Q-Zones (K-H-Q Trend). These trends have been carefully selected based on comprehensive survey results and drilling data. Azincourt Energy's exploration efforts have already confirmed the presence of graphite, sulphides, carbonates, hydrothermal alteration, and elevated uranium within these structurally disrupted conductor zones.
Notably, the identification of hydrothermal alteration indicators such as illite and dravite positions Azincourt Energy at the forefront of uranium exploration, following in the footsteps of significant discoveries nearby. Azincourt's commitment to local communities, environmental responsibility, and cutting-edge exploration techniques make it a key player in the pursuit of sustainable resource development.
