Azincourt Energy Unearths Significant Pegmatite Field: A Leap Forward in Lithium Exploration at Big Hill Project

Azincourt Energy Corp., a key player in alternative energy/fuel resource exploration, is celebrating a substantial discovery at the Big Hill Lithium Project in Newfoundland, Canada. Collaborating with Atlantis Battery Metals Corp., the company’s meticulous 21-day exploration unveiled a noteworthy pegmatite field within the site, presenting promising prospects for lithium extraction, a critical component in battery technologies.

This venture accentuates Azincourt’s commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions. It intensively explored the vicinity, aided by a sophisticated helicopter-assisted program, involving a team of six geological experts. Around 70 unaltered, fresh bedrock samples were meticulously collected and analyzed, revealing the potential richness in lithium and associated elements.

The discovered pegmatite field resides in the southern edge of claim 035342M, showcasing a considerable span of ~400m. These formations were found around a government-mapped mafic unit from the Late Silurian epoch. “The area is significantly underexplored and will require additional detailed work to examine the pegmatites identified and determine if there are lithium-bearing phases within the system,” remarked Trevor Perkins, VP, Exploration.

The Big Hill Project is strategically positioned near the Benton/Sokoman JV partnership’s Kraken Lithium Pegmatite Field and Hydra Dyke discoveries, known for their high-grade lithium, tantalum, and cesium concentrations. Spanning over 7,500 hectares, this project holds the promise to redefine the possibilities in lithium extraction.
