INDUSTRY: Manufacturing and Production - Mining and Metals

William J. Fisher, Director

Mr. Fisher, P.Geo, is a geologist and mining company executive with broad international experience in diamond, gold and base metal exploration, development and production. He has an outstanding record of mineral discoveries, and played a key role with several companies in raising hundreds of millions of dollars of debt and equity for exploration and mine development. A graduate of Kingston University, UK (B.Sc. (Geology) 1979), Mr. Fisher began his career as a diamond exploration and production geologist with DeBeers in Zaire, where he was responsible for the discovery of numerous kimberlites, prior to working in the diamond fields of northeastern Angola, also with DeBeers, and subsequently in Guinea, West Africa, where he was employed as a production geologist at the AREDOR diamond mine. In 1988 he moved to Australia, where he developed a small gold mine in Queensland for Cambrian Resources, and served as senior geologist for Caledon Resources. Returning to Europe, he joined Reunion Mining of London, England, before moving to Canada in 1993 with Caledonia Mining Corp. (TSX.CAL). In 1995 he founded Karmin Exploration Inc. (TSXV:KAR) which discovered the 27 million tonne Aripuana massive sulphide deposit in Brazil, currently undergoing a feasibility study. In 1997, Mr. Fisher began work with mining major Boliden Limited, serving as VP Exploration for their 35 exploration projects in nine countries. From 2001 until early 2008, Mr. Fisher was CEO and a director of GlobeStar Mining Corporation of Toronto (TSX:GMI). Under his direction, GlobeStar acquired, developed and financed a copper/gold mine in the Dominican Republic, due for commissioning in 2008. In addition to the foregoing responsibilities, Mr. Fisher has provided oversight as a director to Expatriate Resources and North Atlantic Natural Resources (now Lundin Mining). He continues to serve as Chairman of Aurelian Resources (TSX:ARU), notable for its major gold discovery in Ecuador, and as CEO and director of Karmin Exploration Inc. (TSXV:KAR).
