.. is that Paulson was in the PPT room late in the day, and when he saw that the hedgies were shorting the financials with abandon again today into the close (after the ban expired) he exclaimed "By God!". But with all he stuttering, which has gotten progressively worst, it sounded like "Buy Gold!"

The PPT immediately started to buy gold and, before anyone noticed the error, gold was $40 higher...

Now this is just an rumour, so I don't know for a fact whther it is true...
