We hope that the new mining will be enacted immediately following the referendum, possibly by the end of October. The Chamber of Mines in Ecuador is also petitioning the government to make an explicit statement in the new law that the mining mandate is terminated and superseded by the new law to avoid any confusion over continuation of certain of its provisions. When it was enacted back in April, there was no definite termination date.
