Who's to say Kinross doesn't become the hunted? Once the situation in Ecuador settles down, I'd say that's a near certainty.

I'll just add that having read Sylvia's article, one way to avoid this possibility is to JV with the govt. It doesn't guarantee you won't be taken out, but it does solve the immediate problem of financing, which is the biggest issue facing mine development in the current credit crunch.
