something is about to happen in the stock market. the barclays deal to take over lehman appears to have fallen through. there was an emergency trading session today (on a sunday) from 2pm to 4pm in new york, involving derviatives. all of the trades are contingent on lehman bros going bankrupt by 11:59 pm tonight. otherwise they don't count. i don't think that's ever been done before.
i think there is going to be a huge move in the stock market tomorrow, i just don't know whether it will be up or down, depending on how the lehman affair is handled. it will depend on whether they can prevent a lehman faliure from impacting the rest of the financial industry.
with the global economy under so much stress, you'd think gold and silver would be selling for a lot more than $775 and $11, but that may be about to change.
