As long as we are all speculating here there are some curious aspects to what has gone on.

1. None of the major shareholders have opposed the deal.
2. The terms are so favorable to Kinross.
3. We now hear rumors that Barrick may be about to take out Kinross.

So not dealing in fact but pure speculation.

1. Barrick cuts a deal with the politicos in the Ecuadorian government.

2. These officials then tell the BOD of ARU that if they do not cut a deal with K that the mine will be held up by environmental and political problems indefinitely.

I am just putting this out there because we do not know what went on behind the scenes.

All we really know is we got taken. We don't know for sure by who.
