The company whose shareholders were better than its management
He did not lose Aurelian. If he is co-founder of the company, I would believe that he would of had loads of .50 cent paper or possibly even cheaper seed stock from their initial IPO.
So then, why didn't he stick around and fight? Aurelian had the potential to become a mid-tier producer. He could have made everyone associated with it rich... you know, the people who actually put up the money? The SHAREHOLDERS? He was happy to sell them shares at 37.50, wasn't he? So how does bailing on them in a crisis not equate to losing the company?
In my view, he would have made loads on it as a successful investor. He also moved out early before the clouds came in. Much before anything got into the media.
Oh, moved out early, did he? Before the clouds came in, was it? How very poetic. No one tipped him off, because that would be cheating, right? He just intuitively sensed it was time to leave. The hallmark of a truly brilliant man.
Of course once gone, he didn't see any need to stick around and help the little guys fend off Kinross. You know, the ones that handed him their 37.50 oh so long ago? Money that was used to arrange this deal. Nope. No help there. He's looking out for number one, that's very clear. Brilliant, actually.
But why should you care? What are you, his mom? Keith Barron doesn't need you to defend him. Keith Barron is Keith Barron. He can defend himself. In fact, I challenge him to come in here and do just that before his former shareholders, or what's left of them. Explain to us how it was the evil Darth Anderson who lost our company, and how you had nothing to do with it, and were completely hamstrung with your measly 14 Million shares.
Can't, can you? You can duke it out with those heavy weight corporate types and government ministers like the brilliant world-wise strategist you are, but you can't even step up and answer to a simple shareholder who trusted you with his hard-earned money, can you? Can you?
Feh, I'm done here. Keith Barron will show up when hell freezes over.
I'm done with you too, Armani. Try Brooks Brothers next time. It has more class.
