A rival bid ....tomorrow August 26! (we all hope anyway)

If it does not happen tomorrow, it won't happen at all. Usually people would wait until the very last minute to make up their minds. Since this is the long weekend, tomorrow is really the last day to act - for both the people who intend to accept the Kinross offer, and for a rival bid to act before those people doing just that.
