there are many reasons to short. One could be:
the ARU insider(s) with intimate knowledge of exploration
expect the share to move up or a buyout is inevitable.-
Short ARU in the home market;
Simultaneous, go long in the Caymans or even Switzerland;
let things unfold. Use your capital losses in Canada/USA
and enjoy your Cap gains offshore.
The reported short position may well become the cataylst
to nominate the first candidate for the "Celin Dion Award" -
the lady who sings.
Questions remain:
1) when was the short position created first, what price and by whom.
2) anyone has a better insight of how Revenue Canada/CCRA
operates in cases like this for a quick investigation ; afterall
OSC/TSX continue to be silent undoubtedly they are too
close to the Bay Street fraternity and brothers-in crime.
If we can break this thing open by enlisting tax investigators at CCRA, Kinross may ultimately have a fate similar to Lac Minerals. We need our own "Ned-man".
