Actually the very thought of no competitive bids for ARU did cross my mind.
All Kinross has to do is promise a prospective competive bidder favourable JV conditions on FDN and that could have kept them from bidding. After all, who wants to get into a bidding war if they don't have to. Also, I always contend that Kinross alone would not be able to develop FDN on its own based on its rather weak balance sheet. The gold mining industry is dirty enough cook up that type of under the table deals.
Let's hope that's not the case here for our sake.
