"thechief009 says in part: "...Maybe that's what ARU management is up to."

I have to respectuflly disagree most strenuously to this point. On others that thechief makes, I agree completely, that is, this is only the opening bid, and do not tender your shares. Well said!

As for giving ARU management any credit for using K as a pawn in this chess game, not a chance! Any bids that may come up now will be inspite of this ARU-K liaison, not because of any carefully planned outcome on the part of ARU management.

Their actions speak clearly to selling us out quickly to the first(and they hope only) bidder. Otherwise:

(a) they would never have agreed to such an onerous $42mm break fee;

(b) they would never have given K a signifcant number of shares in a PP, which they didn't really need the money from...the only reason to do so was to give K more voting control when this comes up for a vote. K's motivation for pumping in the cash is clearly a win-win situation, they are just moving money effectively from one K account to another K account(when(if) they take over) or if a stronger bid comes along which we hope to be the case, just lots of easy money will be made by K on the transaction as pointed out by a number of astute posters here;

(c) they are rushing this thing through before the September announcement of the new Ecuadorian constitution and mining reforms(K offer to be completed by Sept 3). Nobody could persuade me that they and K do not have a very good idea now just how the mining laws will impact on the company going forward. Now is the time for a quick stink bid amid all the angst surrounding what will happen with this Ecuadorian government and its policies which is great for creating doubt about the project;

(d) And, as pointed out by others, they have not bothered updating us on any additional resources or resource potential here. We certainly wouldn't want to be made aware that we have more gold than previously announced, so let's sell out before more good news is let out. Cynicism intended here.

The above comments(jmvho) are made out of frustration with ARU management, not K as K has only done what any good business would.....seize on an unbelievable opportunity. It is up to the shareholders to determine how this plays out.
