Natural Resources
Art. 410 .- They are owned inalienable and imprescriptible unattachable of the State non-renewable natural resources and generally products subsoil deposits minerals and hydrocarbons, substances whose nature is different from the soil, even those who are in the areas covered by the waters of the territorial sea and Marine Areas well as biodiversity and genetic heritage and the spectre electromagnetism. These assets can only be operated in strict compliance with environmental principles set forth in the Constitution.
The State participates in the benefits of exploiting these resources in an amount not less than those of the company that operates.
The State guarantee that the mechanisms of production, consumption and use of resources energy and natural preserve and restore natural cycles and permit conditions life with dignity.

That's half of it gone right there.
As I was saying, embedding something in the Constitution makes it that much harder to change later on, even if you get a complete change of government.
Maybe we should wait and see if the damn thing even passes?
Having read most of it by now, if I were Ecuadorean I'd be voting No.
