The company whose shareholders were better than its management
An open and notorious declaration from Professor Chaos (as relayed by his humble assistant, General Disarray)
When the Fed does an open market operation, or lowers/raises rates, THAT's market manipulation. When a central bank makes a big public display of selling gold, THAT's market manipulation. What do you think the Fannie/Freddie bailout is? What do you think ANY government bailout is? So what's the big surprise that brokers, hedge funds and investment banks do it too? The government sets the tone. Everyone else just follows their example. Bottom line: There is no free market.
Say it to yourself a few times until it sinks in.
NO - FREE - MARKET
So, is the junior mining market manipulated? Well, gee... I guess so.
But wait! Aren't we doing exactly the same thing when we borrow money to buy shares? Where do you think short sales come from? First you borrow the house's money, then use it to bet against them? How stupid is that?
Not just stupid, but completely irresponsible because it affects honest people like us who pay full price and have to ride out these shitstorms you margin players create with your roll the dice, I feel lucky today mentality.
So don't come whining to us paid in full longs when your luck runs out, or try to blame it on the very market manipulations you helped create. OK?
The way this game is currently played there's only one way you can win. Do your homework, recognize the value, then take a fully paid position. Then when the manipulators hit the stock, which they will inevitably do, back up the truck, take their shares, then take delivery.
It's really that simple, and if you don't know this already, then what are you doing here?

pass it along.
