The new draft constitution finalized on Thursday in Ecuador has nearly five hundred articles, which should move immediately to the analysis of a drafting committee composed of lawyers before it is considered final proposal.



After nearly eight months of work, 110 of the 130 assembly approved the latest articles of the new Magna Carta. The remaining 20 constituencies, opposition, left the legislative compound in protest because their views were not heard.

The chairman of the Assembly, Fernando Cordero, stressed in a press conference, hours before finishing the last session, that "democratically articles were approved during all sessions."
