Vice Chancellor of Ecuador boost relations with India

New Delhi, July 15 (PL) The Vice Chancellor of Ecuador, Jose Valencia, will arrive tomorrow to India to ratify the progress made in bilateral ties and open new areas of cooperation, said here today the ambassador of Ecuador, Carlos Abad.
"We want to ratify what has been achieved in our ties, with a trade that has grown 100 percent, and on this basis broaden the prospects in new fields," said the diplomat in statements to Prensa Latina.
Abad noted the interest in advance in the fields of science and technology, renewable energy, credit lines, mainly agriculture and mining.
"We will broaden the spectrum of our relations with proposals to start negotiations or agreements on some projects," said the head of mission. Accompanied by the Director of Asia from the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry, Eduardo Calderon, the Vice Chancellor Valencia participate, as its main objective, at the Second Meeting of the Mechanism of Political Consultation Ecuador-India.
In that event exchange with Nalin Surie, secretary for Foreign Affairs of western India and other officials of that agency.
It will also meet Minister of State for Mines, BK Handique and an exchange with the secretary for Foreign Affairs Anand Sharma.
And for the first time a high-ranking official of Ecuador will make presentations on business opportunities in the country in the Andean city of Mumbai, the main economic centre of India, the ambassador stressed Abad.
Valencia's visit to India will be extended until Monday 21.
