Safe....One of the confusing things to me is that most americans can not short a foreign company through most brokerage companies. I know myself as a small time retail investor can not short AUR in the USA through Etrade , Schwab, or Morgan Stanley etc. because they just don't let you short foreign companies that are not listed on US exchanges like the NYS or AMEX.

So if the 13 Mill Shares are shorted they must be some kind of Hedge Fund like Brit says....they must have special rules....
