The Ecuadorian journalist Raul Rodriguez, shot dead on Monday in the port of Guayaquil, was murdered allegedly on the orders of his lover, who paid 4 500 U.S. dollars a sicario to commit the crime, said on Friday the prosecutor Antonio Galiardo.
The fact remained virtually cleared through the testimonies of seven of the suspects involved, who revealed details surrounding the death of radio communications, said the prosecutor in charge of Guayaquil.
Rodriguez was killed on the orders of his lover Luz Rivera, who through a third party hired a man known by the alias "Chuza" so that the journalist murdered by matters of money.
"It is not theft, nor revenge, or political crime or complaints. Exclusivity is a matter of a personal nature and by appropriating money, "said Galiardo.
The woman paid $ 4,500 per murder, according to the release of detainees.
Rodriguez, 64 years and chief information Radio Sucre, was completed by a gunman who shot him several times near the house where he lived with Rivera.
The seven people allegedly involved in the crime were caught between Tuesday and Friday and will now be brought to trial.
