We were pretty sure that the windfall tax was going to continue to be on the table so are not surprised by that. Until there is more clarity about how it will be implemented it is really hard to say how much it will affect us. All we know so far is that the reference price can’t be below market when it is set (that’s a good thing). Unknowns that could have a big effect are: how frequently will reference price be reset? And will companies be allowed to write-off other taxes against it? In the end the effect on our bottom line could be significant or quite minor, it really depends on the implementation. I hope that the volatility and uncertainty around our stock will start to reduce soon but I think that it is more likely to continue for quite some time. I think it is only the traders that are enjoying themselves.
