I don't think the market likes it either. No matter how you slice it, the process is flawed and will result in controversy down the road, especially when you consider that the more contentious sections that were set aside for later are the ones now being fast-tracked. The whole process smacks of desperation, and will end badly IMO.

This deadline they're working to is an artificial obstacle. Why can't they extend it? They've extended everything else. An executive decree is all it would take. So why isn't that forthcoming? What is Correa afraid of? Losing the next election? He's going to lose it anyway at this rate.
