Brazil,Peru,and Columbia-instead he takes the Venezuala Nationalize everything course-Everyone keeps making excuses for him -Economy will stagnate-Elections will be called again-Ecuador will stay poor again-While-Brazil,Peru and Columbia-keep improving their economy

What has Ecuador nationalized besides the oil industry? Mexico did that in 1938. How about Petrobras? That was state owned until 1997.

Why wouldn't a small nation want to control the single most important resource it has? How do you feel about Canada's arrangment with the USA vis-a-vis our oil and gas? Oil is non-renewable don't forget. It will be gone one day, and then what will we do?

Maybe Ecuador realizes the value of hanging on to what it has? Maybe oil in the ground is worth more to them in the future than in the present? Maybe that's why Correa wants mining so badly - so he doesn't have to sell as much oil? Just saying.
