Your reference to indigenous movements ousting past Presidents is a little bit of a stecth as well, most ousting can be attributed to corruption and a corrupt congress which no longer exists. (Correa's best move to date)Up to where I made my comments, I was basically paraphrasing articles in El Comercio and Universo. That's where that came from.
I agree with most of your points, I just don't believe in underestimating an adversary. Don't forget, they may not be able to overthrow the government, but they can make lots of trouble for foreign investors who tend to be more skittish than Latin American politicos. Just to clarify, when push comes to shove, I still think Correa holds most of the cards.
