There are many reasons I would like to see a new administration in Ecuador but if Correa goes down because of high inflation that would be funny because it would not be his fault. Pretty much all countries that peg their currency to the US dollar have high inflation now. Ecuador uses the US dollar and as the value of the dollar falls the price of all commodities rises.

Many countries are now considering cutting their ties with the US dollar for just this reason. If enough of them do it we could see a US currency crises later this year and gold will soar.
