rich? Whether it's ZIMBABWE or
Ecuador or Bolivia, the story's the same
Hope you didn't turn the history books
upside down!!
Riding to power on the promise of economic liberation, then pulling the rug out from under people at the last minute is just as odious. In some ways its worse, actually. Hope denied does more to undermine people's confidence than a common enemy with no moral case.
Bear in mind, the current state of affairs was not brought on by any driving necessity. There was no boycott, no harbors were mined, no "Contras" were sponsored. This is an entirely self-inflicted wound.
