Correa announces that they will not recognize the possible autonomy of Santa Cruz. He accused the Ecuadorian and Venezuelan elites of supporting the separation.

AFP - The president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, noted today that several countries of the region will not recognize a probable autonomy of the Bolivian department of Santa Cruz, and denounced that “separatist attempt” is being supported by Ecuadorian and Venezuelan elites. “These are absolutely illegal separatist attempts. The countries of the region - I have spoken with several presidents we are not going to allow that class of activities”, affirmed the chief executive without mentioning any government in particular. Correa expressed his solidarity with Bolivian president Evo Morales a day before the referendum ordered by Santa Cruz, and alerted to the governments of the region of an orchestrated action to destabilize them by means of that type of consultation. “What is happening in Bolivia is not detached activities, it has the support of foreign countries, that want to destabilize the region; and of the separatist elites of Guayaquil and Zulia in Venezuela”, indicated the Ecuadorian president in his weekly radio program. In Bolivia, president Morales described the call to the autonomic referendum in Santa Cruz “illegal and secessionist”.

An educative plan Correa criticized the supposed lack of "energía" of the minister of Education, Raul Vallejo, to implement " revolution ciudadana" in the education.
