re your emails:
1)Azuay province people say that 1000 workers have already been laid off, with thousands more to come. In your emails push the point that Canada WANTS to employ these people.
2) An environmental angle to remember: the small artisanal miners are the ones that contaminate the most, and they have been allowed to continue (the mines that do up to 150tpd). Point to the excellent environmental record that Canadian mining companies have worldwide.
