Aurelian needs to firm but diplomatic here. They have been the perfect corporate citizen in every way imaginable, concessions have been worked and paid for. They need to be very firm about keeping their concessions and being able to drill. If they are just accepting (which I know they will not be) then this will be a very slippery slope. Taking concessions from a company like ARU (with no compensation at that) is unconscionable. This needs to be rectified for Ecuador to come away with a shred of credibility and future foreign investment of any kind.
