The list is quite comprehensive.

I rank the likely acquisitor this way:

1. I think I'm in agreement with Hawnkoa that Newmont probably need it the most and will need to be most aggresive in bidding.

2. One cant rule our Barrick especially with them announcing $10 billion in spending to acquire more ounces.

3. Goldcorp is always a wild card

I can also see Freeport getting in the bid. I dont really see Agnico bidding based on their style.

A couple of others that are possible additions to the list but are maybe too small could be:

Goldfields and Harmony Gold. I dont know a lot about these two smallish majors but they were names that came to mind as possible list additions. maybe some others know more about their operations and potential.
