The company whose shareholders were better than its management
doctor ankherwho, i had noticed the same thing about silver. i think the dealers have silver bullion, they just won't sell it for $17. anyone who wants to buy silver can find all they want on ebay, but they may not like the price. over the weekend i looked at several dozen auctions on ebay and the lowest price i could find for a completed auction was about $21/oz. most were $22-23/oz and the rest were even higher.
the coin and bullion dealers don't believe the comex price and neither do i. yesterday i received the following e-mail from a coin dealer. at the time, the spot price of silver was $17.21, and the coin dealer j daniel rare coins was offering to pay $20 for ordinary one-ounce silver eagles. i don't know what their spread is on physical bullion, but i don't think they will be selling those coins for $17.
this is re-posted from my forum as we are more into silver over there.
