Have you noticed all gold shares are down today?  "Wash trading" is a term usually associated with a very tightly held security & used to move the price up.  ARU is very widely held & has a large instit. shareholding.  If you had buyers in the mkt. you would not see the price action of today.  IMO there is no conspiracy today just as there were no conspiracies when ARU was moving up.  ARU is moving today in sympathy with all other gold shs.
