I don't think FARC needs Ecuadorian or Venezuelan soldiers. They have over 18,000 members already and many more supporters, including me, and 30% of them are women. South American can only be free when the American backed Colombian tyrants are overthrown

I felt the same way 30 years ago, only back then it was Chile, El Salvador and Nicaragua. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

This border action is a tempest in a teapot IMO. I'm sure Correa knew what was happening. Under international law he had an obligation to clear those FARC guys out, but if he did so he'd be putting Ecuadorian troops in harm's way. Better to let the Colombians do it for him. That way he can make some noise about Ecuadorian sovereignty which raises his standing in the polls, plus he doesn't have to deal with the nightmare of some poorly trained Ecuadorian kids getting killed fighting hardened FARC veterans.
