I've wonders as well why the juniors continue to lag. Ive thought it might be for some of these reasons.

1. I've believed that some of it is the fact that people have so many ETF's they can buy Bullion on now and remove the risks of profit/loss on a company actually trying to harvest the stuff.

I hear a number of analysts take this position. They are bullish on Bullion but they are concerned about rising production costs so they promote ETF's.

Also, ETF's are a lot easier than trying to cart around and store the actual metal. For many this is a nice alternative.

2. The other thing I think has kept the share prices down is the fact that the price of gold has risen so quickly that the new reality of "Value" isnt baked in because people believe the price may decline as quickly as it came up. I think the longer we stay at these levels that has to change.

3. Recent financial market worries have taken a toll on share prices at times as many people run to the security of treasury bills when the financials have taken a beating. This seems so ill conceived to me when the greenback is tanking. I believe many americans dont yet really appreciate what has been happening to their purchasing power. This will soon change and then they may discuss the precious metals market on one of their financial shows. I guess its not sexy to talk resources and precious metals on the big US shows becuase the amount of airtime over the past five years on the subject has been negligible. This appears to be changing now. (This isnt a slight against americans but an observation on their programming which happens to be very dominant).

4. Hedgefunds. I dont really know anything about hedge funds but often hear of their impact. Perhaps it has an impact.

Those are just some thoughts I have on the low share price value.
