The most important thing he said was with respect to the locals:
1) There is almost no one living there -- I think he said 600 people between where they are and the closest highway. So there is no town to move or anything like that.
2) The locals that are there are great supporters -- ARU is the biggest employer. I think he said 400 locals on the payroll.
This reminded me of something else I heard PA say not too long ago. Not only are the locals supportive, but they hold very dearly their right of self-determination and are not about to let outside NGOs come in and oppose the project and, by so doing, their right to a decent and prosperous future.
