I asked a follow-up question from the other day. Here is her response.
"Our one on one meetings have two purposes: 1. to negotiate an agreement governing FDN that stabilizes taxes, royalties etc. so we can build the mine in confidence and 2. discussions re: mining laws, which will govern the rest of our concessions. The government has said that it wants the project agreements done prior to the draft laws. It expects to have the draft laws to the Assembly by the end of March and President Correa has said that he expects the Assembly to be finished all of its business (including passing any laws) by May 24."
