I see some of their own guys have jumped the gun already and formed their own party using the AP name:

The split in the AP appears to be getting wider. With Noboa out of the way, the AP may face some credible opposition in the next election.
What remains to be seen is if the politics of envy can be overcome with sound economic arguments, or if the something-for-nothing mentality has already corrupted the electorate the way it has in most other western liberal democracies.
I see AP is also debating turning their oil royalty fund over to general revenue. The fund was specifically designed for re-investment in the oil patch, but I guess the kitty is getting low. (more on that when I know)
Apparently there's also some dissent amongst naval officers over an appointment made to the high command. The trouble with the ecuador press is that they don't give you much context or background for these stories. I guess they assume that no one outside the country is interested, and that everyone inside already knows the details.
