Hello Everyone, in my frustration yesterday I sent a direct but civil message to Marla. She keeps saying that Aurelian's concessions are in good standing but it would go a long way for the Ecuadorian government to publicly state that.
Her last sentence is encouraging.........but I believe the market really needs to hear something concrete from the government and by concrete I mean something directly related to Aurelian rather than just general comments about mining in Ecuador.
Here are her comments:
“We are working to get this done as soon as possible. Unfortunately folks seem to have become a bit confused over what we are aiming to do. What Corriente and IAMGOLD have announced has nothing to do with royalties, it only covers their concessions. Our concessions are in good standing. What we are trying to achieve is a much broader and more significant accord, which is why it would take longer. It is difficult to say what the timing will be but it is likely to be in Q1 of next year. We really only have about a week and a half left in the work year for 2007 (sad but true). Our team is making excellent progress in its meetings with the government”.
